An introductory, figure skating program for skaters 5 years and older who demonstrate potential beyond the recreational level. Junior Academy is the next stage of development for skaters with enhanced ability to pursue test/competitive skating. The program introduces skaters to foundations of the sport of figure skating through two 45 minute classes per week. Skaters are encouraged to supplement this program with private lessons.

Classes are structured to provide skaters with enhanced coaching, the skills for learning to train and practice appropriately for the sport. Valuable information on skate care and equipment requirements, off and on ice warm-up drills and various educational materials that provide a fun and exciting way to learn about the specifics of figure skating.

Participation within the program is by invitation only, with auditions and assessments conducted in the Spring and Fall. Skaters previously registered in Jr. Academy and those skaters auditioned in the Fall will be given priority towards registration.
