Spring Seminar 2011

Connaught  Skating Club was very fortunate to have the renowned Manon Perron lead our Spring  2011 seminar  last week. Manon coached the six-time Canadian Women’s Champion, 2009 World Silver Medalist, and 2010 Olympic bronze medalist, Joannie Rochette. Manon has been coaching for 30 years and is Level 4 certified. She ran her own sport school in St-Leonard, Que., where she has built a reputation for dedication and leadership. She is currently the High Performance Director for the Province of Quebec. Over the years, Manon has had tremendous success with all of her skaters at the Sectional to International levels of competition. She is the recipient of the 2007 and 2010 Skate Canada Competitive Coach of Excellence Award and the first recipient of the GM Making Dreams Possible elite coaching award as the coach of Joannie Rochette.  Manon was given a warm Connaught welcome & shared her enthusiasm & tips with our competitive program skaters.  She was assisted by Ian Martinez, a National level Senior Men's competitor, who dazzled us with his triple jumps and great smile. Some of the groups were also fortunate to have Theatre classes with Shauna Proke.  We look forward to seeing them all in the future. A big thanks to all who contributed making this such a successful event. Pictures are available on the pdf at the top of the page.
