
While Olympic and Paralympic athletes were racking up the medal count, Connaught skaters were doing the same.
Mitchell Gordon (pre-novice men) set a new Canadian record by earning 109 points in his gold medal-winning performance at the B.C. Games.
Kurtis Schreiber (juvenile men) also topped the podium, while Breliegh Loader (third juvenile girls), Karina Tjew (third pre-novice ladies), Eurwen Zeto (eighth juvenile), Sarah Folkestad (14th pre-novice ladies) and Shawn Cuevas (second pre-novice men) also competed in Terrace. Schreiber, Loader and Cuevas all achieved personal bests.
The skaters were selected based on their provincial ranking.
Evan Mak (pre-juvenile men) topped the B.C. Pacific Skate Championships. Angus Chan was third in the same division. Amy Li (third pre-juvenile ladies), Britney McKenzie-Cook (seventh preliminary ladies), and Adelaide Chan and Sophie O’Bray ((fifth and seventh, introductory interpretive) also competed.
