CanSkate - Learn to Skate

Program Requirements: Helmets are mandatory for preschool and power skating, and are recommended for beginners. Rental skates and helmets are not available during our sessions - you must bring your own equipment. A parent or designated adult must be present while skaters
Prerequisites: This is a learn to skate program. There are no pre-requisites
Ages: All Ages, including Adults

Connaught Skating Club proudly presents Canskate, the Skate Canada designed “Learn to Skate Program” for all. This innovative and progressive ice skating program can take you from your first steps on the ice through to involvement in the ice sport of your choice. Group lessons include 45 minutes of professional coaching, from one of our Skate Canada Nationally certified coaches, to enhance the fun factor and create a great learning environment. Badges and certificates will now be awarded upon achievement of various levels within the program. There will be special event days, themed days and on-ice parties, music and fun throughout the sessions.

ADULT: A program for the adult skater or non-skater (17 & up). Instruction offered at every level. Skaters will be grouped according to ability. Not Available Spring session.

Please note:

Rental skates and helmets are not available during our sessions - you must bring your own equipment.

Helmets: On July 1, 2011 Skate Canada implemented a helmet use policy. In order to participate in the Canskate Program, all skaters who have not achieved Stage 5 in the CanSkate program or who lack good balance and control must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet while on the ice. Notes: - The $32 Skate Canada fee is payable once per skating year (Sept 2011-Aug 2012) - Prorating for late entry is available after Jan 17 - You must provide your own helmets and skates. We require CSA approved helmets, not* bike helmets. No rentals are available.
